Plate analyser
Paste a recipe or a meal plan. Each plant is pressed onto the sheet with its Latin name and family, then traced from fibre type to the gut microbes that ferment it. Every claim links to its source.

Determination and details
Thirty plants this week
A drawer for the week’s specimens. Analyse a recipe, choose “Add these plants to my week”, and its plants fill the slots.
The figure comes from the American Gut Project, where people who reported eating more than 30 different plants a week had measurably different gut microbiomes from those who reported 10 or fewer. That is an association in a self-selected citizen-science cohort, so treat 30 as a prompt for variety rather than a proven target.
Each plant species fills one slot, whatever form it came in: paprika and chilli flakes are both Capsicum annuum, so they share one. Crops that botanists name as separate groups of one species, such as broccoli and kale, keep a slot each, and a blend such as garam masala fills one of its own. The analyser’s own score counts herbs, spices and anything eaten in small amounts as a quarter of a plant. Your week is remembered on this device only.
